WHAT IS PLAN MANAGEMENT? 

Plan Management is a financial administration service available to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants. The service assists participants through financial management of their claims and payments for disability supports. All eligible NDIS participants are entitled to receive Plan Management within an NDIS plan. There is no out-of-pocket expense for participants.

WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?

Plan management or implementation involves a series of activities to link our client with, and maintain, the supports outlined within the client plan’s Statement of Supports. The service we offer is linking our client to supports and ensuring service delivery is of satisfactory quality in meeting our customer’s goals.

Support to implement the plan (known as support coordination) is the provision of assistance in one or more of the components of plan implementation.

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) defines Support Coordination as primarily being;

Assistance to strengthen the client’s abilities to coordinate and implement supports and participate more fully in the community. The service, include initial assistance with linking client with the right providers to meet their needs, assistance to source providers. Coordinating a range of supports both funded and mainstream and building on informal supports, resolving points of crisis, parenting training and developing client resilience in their network and community.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) aims to provide more choice and control to people with disability, their families and carers. However, getting started with an NDIS plan can be daunting and overwhelming at first. Through Support Coordination Services, Support Connection and Specialist Support Coordination, AussieCare can work with you to ensure the client you care for gets the most from their NDIS plan.
